Night of the churches
For the Night of the Churches on Friday, September 5, Wiesbaden's churches will open their doors from 6 to 10 pm. Visitors can choose from a huge program.
There are around 80 free offers in 20 churches - devotions, art, music, tower and church tours, readings, discussions and films - you can go spontaneously or put together your program in advance. Wine and snacks will also be on offer at many locations. The places of worship will become lively meeting places for one night.
The Night of the Churches opens with a prayer service with short texts and music at 6 pm on Schlossplatz in front of the Marktkirche - in the crypt or in the church if it rains. The program in the 20 churches begins at 6.30 pm. There is no central closing prayer.
About the night of the churches
The Night of the Churches is always a great celebration of the diversity of faith: Orthodox, Protestant, Catholic, Old Catholic, Anglican, New Apostolic, Independent Evangelical Lutheran - what are the differences, who celebrates how, where are the similarities? Take a look inside the churches, discover new things and let yourself be inspired, because on the Night of the Churches, places of worship that are otherwise not so easily accessible are also open: the Russian Orthodox church on the Neroberg, the Syrian Orthodox church in Dotzheim (Willi-Juppe-Straße) or the Alt-Klarenthal chapel.
