The Friedrich-Engels-Weg daycare center is located in the west of the state capital of Wiesbaden and is part of the Dotzheim district. Adjacent to the city forest, our facility is surrounded by greenery and offers a variety of excursion possibilities. Our daycare center has 5 groups for children aged 2-6 years. We work according to the Freinet+ concept. This pedagogy was developed by Célestin Freinet together with his wife Élise. "Children are explorers and researchers. They reach for materials, things and opportunities when their hunger for life and activity is kindled, when these things become important in their lives." (Freinet) Here in our daycare center, we want to give the children the floor and provide the space for discovery and research. Every child learns by working independently in a child-friendly environment and acquires knowledge in dialog with adults and children. Joint activities and projects offer a variety of learning stimuli. Parents can expect the following in our daycare center: - Daily time spent outdoors and regular excursions - A pottery, wood, media and artist workshop - A large movement room equipped with Hengstenberg material, among other things - A theater corner and library - Weekly early musical education with a trained music teacher - Annual preschool programs that support the transition to school - 3 balanced meals daily, which are freshly and seasonally prepared in the daycare center. A healthy diet plays a major role in our educational work, and our daycare center regularly undergoes an audit by the DGE (German Nutrition Society) with the aim of achieving Fit KID certification. In addition, we take part in the federal "Sprach-Kitas" program, as we pay particular attention to promoting the language development of all children.
