The inclusive idea In our daycare center, we live the pedagogy of diversity, which means that we have developed an attitude towards inclusion. For us, inclusion means: "Everyone is equal and everyone is different, no one is excluded" (Ines Boban/Andreas Hinz). At Schatzinsel, EVERY child has the same right to receive appropriate support and encouragement in their development and learning. Our aim is to educate ALL our children from nursery age onwards to become socially competent, independent, self-confident and tolerant personalities in order to prevent them from becoming isolated and outsiders. In doing so, we focus on the families and the realities of their lives and support the children playfully in their everyday lives, not in isolation. We consciously oppose exclusion and look after children of different nationalities, religions, cultures and ethnicities, from all social classes, as well as gifted, disabled and handicapped children. Our pedagogical orientation At Schatzinsel, we base our pedagogical work on the situation-oriented approach. Topics, for example for project work, arise from the individual life situation of the group or individual children. The children develop the topics themselves and decide what is important to them and which questions they want to work on. The topics are therefore not predetermined in terms of their meaning and development, but are linked to the individual situation of the children. Projects can be developed both within and across groups. The project work can also be linked to the activities offered in the experience rooms as well as reflected in the working groups and activities outside the home.
