Nerotal plants

The green area connects Wiesbaden's city center with the Taunus and invites you to linger with picturesque paths, a playground and the historic Nerobergbahn.

Nero Valley plant

The Nerotal park connects Wiesbaden's city center with the wooded heights of the Taunus. The listed park landscape was laid out in 1897/98 in the style of English landscape gardens and is characterized by wide meadows, old trees and artistically designed bridges. Lined with magnificent villas, it offers an impressive ambience for walks and relaxation.

A special highlight is the historic Nerobergbahn, one of the oldest water-ballast funiculars in Europe. It has been in operation since 1888 and takes visitors from the park to the Neroberg, which offers spectacular views over Wiesbaden.

The Schwarzbach stream runs through the approximately six-hectare park, which was once home to almost 6,000 exotic plants - which is why it was popularly known as the "botanical garden". Today, two monuments dominate the landscape alongside giant old trees: the war memorial erected in 1909 and the Bismarck memorial from 1898.

There is a playground for families to let off steam. A restaurant at the park entrance offers refreshments and food. Events are also held regularly in the Nero Valley park, making this green gem a lively meeting place.

Whether it's a leisurely stroll, a ride on the Nerobergbahn funicular or an excursion into nature - the Nero Valley Park is a real Wiesbaden highlight!
