Star garden
Star garden
'Star children' is the name given to children who could not come to life. For many parents, it is a comforting thought that these children, who died before the end of the twenty-fourth week of pregnancy, are stars in the great firmament. They have reached heaven even before they could see the light of day. A burial ground for the star children has been created at the South Cemetery in the form of the 'Star Garden'. This is also a place for parents to express their grief, their pain, the incomprehensible.

The Sternengarten e. V. association has set itself the task of burying even the youngest children, supporting parents in their grief and raising public awareness. Community funerals are held several times a year, in which grieving parents can participate regardless of their religious affiliation or cultural background. The 'Sternengarten' is located in the south cemetery in section U 12.
