New goat breed for the Ark Park

Four new goats can be admired at the Fasanerie Animal and Plant Park. The beautiful Tauernschecken are a mountain goat breed and highly endangered.

Tauern Pinto

As an archaeological park, the Fasanerie has set itself the task of helping to preserve endangered livestock breeds. And so the decision was made to present an endangered goat breed alongside the Poitou donkeys, black-nosed sheep and Pomeranian geese. Trude, Hilde, Margot and Rita are now making the goat enclosure unsafe and are already enjoying being fed by visitors to the zoo.

The fact that the pheasantry can show this special, highly endangered breed is mainly thanks to the Förderverein Fasanerie Wiesbaden e. V., which made the purchase of the animals possible.

Anyone who would like to can also sponsor a goat through the association and thus support the project, the association and the pheasantry in its conservation work.
