On September 4, 1978, Dipl.-Ing. Wilhelm Dyckerhoff signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.
On September 4, 1978, Dipl.-Ing. Wilhelm Dyckerhoff was awarded honorary citizenship of Wiesbaden. In his laudatory speech, Lord Mayor Schmitt praised not only the entrepreneurial qualities of the honoree for his family's global concrete and cement company, but also Dyckerhoff's commitment to the state and society.
Dyckerhoff first entered the city parliament for the CDU in 1952 and was district chairman for several years; he continued to serve as an honorary member of the city council until 1961.
As President of the Wiesbaden Riding and Driving Club, he was instrumental in establishing the Whitsun tournament in the world class. In various other organizations, he campaigned for equestrian sport at national and international level.
Of his numerous social activities, his voluntary work on the board of trustees of the Diakoniegemeinschaft Paulinenstift stands out in particular. As part of this commitment to healthcare, he was also involved in the establishment of the hospitals in Wiesbaden and Nastätten.
The head of the city council, Nierhaus, explained that Wiesbaden would like to return the favor for the commitment of so much heart and understanding for his home town with this ceremony. Wilhelm Dyckerhoff was moved to express his thanks for the words of praise and then signed the city's Golden Book.
