At the meeting of the city council on June 14, 1957, the city proposed that the board of the European Conference for Health Education should sign the Golden Book at a joint reception with the Hessian state government on June 27 in the ballroom of the town hall.
Following approval, the names of the members of the Conference proposed for inscription were recorded on June 22. These included the Director of the European Bureau, von de Calseyde, and representatives from Denmark, Italy and England, among others, thus underlining the European character of the conference when it was inscribed in the Golden Book on June 27. In addition to the guests, the Presidium of the City Council and the Lord Mayor, the festive reception was also attended by professional experts and various representatives of the city's healthcare system.
