Cultural development plan 2020
The "guard rails" for Wiesbaden's culture were developed in 2019/20 in a one-and-a-half-year participation process. Numerous cultural projects since then can be traced back to the cultural development process. The professional exchange in Wiesbaden has intensified.
The cultural development plan for Wiesbaden is the result of a broad-based participation process lasting one and a half years. Numerous cultural professionals, artists and committed citizens were involved. The entire process was aimed at identifying the specific local conditions of Wiesbaden's cultural life and, based on this, formulating a sustainable development strategy. A total of 120 measures and proposals for action were developed. They serve as guidelines for cultural development in the coming years. The proposals are aimed at strengthening individual cultural sectors as well as making progress in cross-cutting tasks such as cultural education and participation, the spatial situation and the visibility of culture.
The CDP was adopted by the city council at the end of 2020. Since then, numerous projects have been implemented or at least started. The exchange on cultural development topics has been given new impetus. A key success factor in the implementation is the cooperation between cultural stakeholders, city politicians and administration as well as all those interested in art and culture. The Cultural Advisory Board plays a central role. The Cultural Office presents an annual implementation report on the progress of cultural development.
In preparation for the CDP work process, an inventory of cultural life in Wiesbaden was compiled. It provides a compilation of the cultural offerings and institutions along with brief descriptions of the goals, concepts and offerings of the cultural institutions and cultural projects.
