German Orchestra Competition 2025
From 14 to 18 June 2025, Wiesbaden, Mainz and Ingelheim will be transformed into the centers of the German amateur orchestra scene. As part of the German Orchestra Competition (DOW), numerous top-class orchestras will perform here and delight audiences with their musical diversity. All events are open to the public.
Guests can expect a varied program. From symphony orchestras to wind orchestras and big bands, there are many different competition categories. Special highlights are the prizewinners' concerts on June 16 in the Rheingoldhalle Mainz and on June 18 in the Kurhaus Wiesbaden.
The venues are:
- Wiesbaden: Kurhaus, State Theater, Schlachthof
- Mainz: Rheingoldhalle, Bürgerhaus Mainz-Hechtsheim, Kulturheim Weisenau
- Ingelheim: kING Ingelheim

A strong network for music
The German Orchestra Competition is sponsored by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. Further support comes from the state capital Wiesbaden, the states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse and YAMAHA as instrument partner.
