District culture days
District culture in Wiesbaden offers people in the district the opportunity to play an active role in shaping cultural events.
Wiesbaden has a lot to offer culturally - also in the city's districts. In cooperation with cultural initiatives, local associations, individuals and institutions, multi-day cultural days are organized and held annually, sometimes biennially, in Wiesbaden's districts, housing estates and quarters. During the Culture Days, there is a variety of programs including exhibitions, readings, classical, rock and pop concerts, cabaret, comedy, film evenings, district tours and theater performances.
The actors from the districts formulate their ideas and are advised and supported by the Department of Culture during the organizational phase, as well as receiving financial and material support. As a model of decentralized cultural work, district cultural work sees itself as an alternative to so-called "event culture".
Culture days are held in the following districts:
Amöneburg, Bergkirchenviertel, Bierstadt, Breckenheim, Dotzheim, Erbenheim, Frauenstein, Freudenberg, Heßloch, Igstadt, Kastel, Klarenthal, Kohlheck, Kostheim, Nerotal, Nordenstadt, Nordost, Parkfeld, Rambach, Rheingauviertel-Hollerborn, Sauerland, Sonnenberg, Südost, Waldstraße, Westend.
