Juice theory and dissection table - Friedrich Theodor Frerichs and the Congress of Internists in Wiesbaden 2019

From May 15 to August 11, 2019, the Stadtmuseum and the German Society of Internal Medicine presented a special exhibition to mark the 125th Congress of Internal Medicine in Wiesbaden.

The exhibition, which was curated by Roland Helms (Berlin Medical History Museum of the Charité) for the German Society of Internal Medicine in Wiesbaden in cooperation with the Medical Society Wiesbaden e.V., highlighted Frerich's life and work. He is regarded as one of the most important international internists of his time and the founder of experimental clinical medicine.

In Wiesbaden, the Berlin specialist for metabolic processes of the liver and kidneys will be remembered as the chairman of the first three "Congresses for Internal Medicine", as will his Wiesbaden founding fathers Eugen Seitz (1817-1899) and Emil Pfeiffer (1846-1921).
