hr2 listening festival Wiesbaden 2025

hr2-kultur and the state capital Wiesbaden invited to the hr2-Hörfest from February 3 to 9. This year's program included: hr2-Hörgala, hr2-Kinderhörgala with the awarding of the "KIWI - Kinder- und Jugendhörbuchpreis der Landeshauptstadt Wiesbaden", the lecture format "Labyrinth des Hörens" and a storytelling evening.

The big hr2-Hörgala

Some sing, some don't, but whatever they do on stage at the hr2 Hörgala, they will do it brilliantly and captivatingly: the satirical songwriter and performer Miss Allie, the virtuoso a cappella ensemble Anders, the award-winning stand-up newcomer Ana Lucía and the verbal acrobat Martin Zingsheim. The Saturday evening was hosted by hr2 presenter Klaus Krückemeyer.

"Labyrinth of listening"

The fascinating lecture format "Labyrinth of Listening" dealt with artificial intelligence in music, the art of listening and the theremin, an instrument that is only played with gestures. Professor Ali Nikrang, psychologist Margarete Imhof and musician Gilda Razani were on hand at the Villa Clementine House of Literature on Thursday evening.

A stroll around the world in stories

The Sparda storytelling festival was a guest at the hr2 listening festival for the first time. Maria Carmela Marinelli and Gudrun Rathke took their audience on a stroll around the world in stories and an evening full of listening pleasure. On Tuesday, February 4, at the Literaturhaus Villa Clementine.

The hr2 children's listening gala with hr3 presenter Tanja Rösner and the presentation of the "KIWI" award

On Sunday afternoon, February 9, the hr2-Kinderhörgala was held in the Kleine Haus of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden. The highlight was the awarding of the "KIWI - Children's and Young People's Audiobook Prize of the State Capital of Wiesbaden", endowed with 10,000 euros, to actress Birte Schnöink for her narrator performance in the audiobook "Gras unter meinen Füßen" by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. Also present were children's songwriter Ferri, the children's band "The Nameless" and the chatterboxes Jenny and Peggy from the "hr2-Wunderwigwam". The program was hosted by hr3 presenter Tanja Rösner.

School workshops, "Jugend debattiert" and listening education

On Monday, February 3, the Listening Foundation offered educational professionals a taster course on listening education at the Villa Clementine House of Literature, where they were able to get to know the "Lilo Lausch" concept. Here, children have fun learning how to listen consciously and discover the diversity of language and culture at an early age.

The Hessian state parliament also took part in the hr2 listening festival in Wiesbaden as part of the "Jugend debattiert" project. In the plenary chamber, four former participants of the project discussed the question: "Should e-scooters be banned in Hessian cities?"

On Wednesday afternoon, radio presenter Johannes Sassenroth taught participants how to properly prepare a podcast and present it authentically in the podcast moderation workshop at the Wiesbaden Media Center. Practical exercises were used to implement the classic elements of storytelling in an exciting and effective way.

Cinema screenings

The films "Paolo Conte alla Scala" and "Element of Crime in Wenn es dunkel und kalt wird in Berlin" were shown in several screenings at the Caligari FilmBühne and "Sing" at the children's cinema.
