Fairtrade

There are over 900 Fairtrade Towns in Germany. Wiesbaden has been a proud member of this group since 2012.

Fairtrade

What is fair trade? There is an enormous variety of fair trade products such as coffee, tea, chocolate, cookies, cocoa, honey, bananas, fruit juices, wine, sports balls, rice, roses, sugar and textiles made from fair trade cotton. The Fair Trade Towns campaign is supported by Fairtrade Deutschland e.V. and brings together various players from trade, politics and civil society. The economic, social and ecological standards in fair trade enable greater honesty and credibility, especially in economically difficult times. By buying certified products, consumers support better living and working conditions for producers in the Third World. Around 1,900 producer organizations in 70 countries currently benefit from their participation in Fairtrade - and the number is growing all the time!
