WI WORK LIFE skilled labor initiative
Will there be enough staff in industry in the coming years? Companies are already complaining about the difficulty of finding trainees or skilled workers. The state capital of Wiesbaden is counteracting this in a sector-specific manner with the WI WORK LIFE | Industry skilled labor initiative.
WI WORK LIFE | Industry is the skilled labor initiative specifically for industrial companies in Wiesbaden. Together with partners, the Department of Economics and Employment develops and coordinates measures to secure skilled workers in industry. The aim is to support companies in recruiting skilled workers with networking opportunities and exchange formats. Associations, organizations, initiatives and authorities are also on board in order to avoid duplicate structures, create transparency in the variety of offers and facilitate networking.
For companies, we offer transparency and guidance on career guidance and training opportunities:
- Knowledge transfer and exchange on recruiting topics
- Joint projects to connect employers and applicants looking for a job
- Public relations work about attractive employers in the industry
WI WORK LIFE | Industry is a loose association without a formal structure. The core partners working together are
- Wiesbaden industrial companies
- IHK Wiesbaden
- RheinMain University of Applied Sciences
- Fresenius University of Applied Sciences
- Employment Agency
- Municipal job center
- School social work and OloV
- Vereinigung hessischer Unternehmerverbände e.V. - Wiesbaden Rheingau-Taunus office
The activities of WI WORK LIFE | Industry are aimed at local industrial companies. Together, we develop needs-oriented measures to help them find skilled workers.
However, WI WORK LIFE | Industry also wants to offer guidance to citizens, apprenticeship and job seekers and draw their attention to the exciting, attractive job opportunities in industry.
To this end, there will be an image campaign for the WI WORK LIFE | Industry skilled labor initiative in 2025 and 2026. The pop-up employer fair "Industry in the city center" will also be repeated this year in September to raise awareness of industrial companies in the city and bring them together with potential employees.
