Wiesbaden start-up prize "StartAward"

Prizes were awarded to 1st to 3rd place in the main category "Start-up in Wiesbaden" and in the category "Ready to go - start-up ideas from the university". In addition, a special "Impact" prize was awarded for the start-up with the greatest positive impact on society and the environment.

By the end of the application period, the jury had received 55 applications for the main category as well as 15 start-up ideas from students in Wiesbaden. From all applicants, the jury selected 18 semi-finalists from the main category and 11 start-up ideas from the secondary category, who competed against each other with their respective pitches on October 28 and 29, 2024. Of the semi-finalists, three start-ups and three student start-up ideas were able to impress the jury with their potential and secure a place in the final.

1st place: Cluuv GmbH

At the award ceremony on November 7, 2024, first place in the main category was awarded to Cluuv GmbH. Founder Susanne Eidmann was delighted to receive prize money of 10,000 euros. Cluuv is a premium manufacturer of an innovative e-cargobike for companies and families. The Cargobike is characterized in particular by its flexible design options and its safe and ergonomic child seats.

"Ready to go"

Tonopix's start-up idea came out on top in the "Ready to go" category for universities. With Tonopix, Marco Großmann has developed a measuring device for the safe and quick determination of one's own intraocular pressure. With this technology, measurements can be carried out easily and anywhere. Lengthy visits to the doctor and check-ups can therefore be avoided. First place in the "ready to go" category was awarded prize money of 1,500 euros.

Second place was awarded to Time Table Clothes with 1,000 euros. Sarina Kynast and Carolin Heyen want to offer a slightly different kind of fashion advice with their app. The outfit suggestions are individually tailored to the user's personal schedule, weather, mood and the contents of their own closet.

Third place went to Founders Compass. With their start-up idea, Hendrik Hebel and Leon Malzer want to help start-ups put together the perfect team. A psychological analysis module is used to show founding teams which personalities are still missing in their team in order to eliminate weaknesses and move the team forward. The winners can look forward to prize money of 500 euros.

Special "Impact" prize

The special "Impact" prize was awarded to Potenzial Pioniere GmbH, which brings lightness and light-heartedness to the topics of disability, accidents and inclusion. They want to touch people with their unique (life) stories and support them in challenging life situations. This special prize is endowed with 5,000 euros.
