Rent subsidy for start-ups

Founders have the opportunity to apply for a subsidy of up to 500 euros per month towards their rental costs for a period of twelve months.

The rent subsidy program of the state capital of Wiesbaden reduces the start-up costs of founders who rent premises in the city of Wiesbaden for the development, launch and implementation of their business activities. Funding is provided for 80 percent of the basic rent (excluding ancillary costs), up to a maximum of EUR 500 per month.

Start-ups should have an innovative character. Priorities such as social impact, health, crafts, industry, technology or sustainability are given special weighting.

Requirements for the start-up

  • Company headquarters in Wiesbaden
  • Foundation not older than three years
  • Rental property is located in Wiesbaden and meets the requirements of a start-up
  • Foundation is economically viable
  • Personal meeting and joint appointment in the rental property

Documents required for an application

  • Business registration or comparable document
    • If necessary, documents on the approval of the trade
  • Complete business plan (incl. financing and milestones)
  • Viability report from an expert body
  • Copy of the rental agreement
  • De minimis declaration
  • Consent to the GDPR

Applications for the grant can be submitted at any time. Once all documents have been received, applicants will be invited to a personal interview. The number of places is limited.

During the funding and application process, founders receive intensive support from the Department of Economic Affairs and Employment.
