Open-air artistry
For six days, Wiesbaden's city center was dominated by "FreiLuftArtistik".
In October 2024, artists and street performers staged spontaneous performances in the historic pentagon. Passers-by encountered the artistic performances by chance and came into contact with art in a playful way - without a stage or barriers. The result was a small spectacle in the best sense of the word - accessible to all and yet at a high artistic level. In the run-up to the European Youth Circus, Wiesbaden's city center once again proved to be a lively place for encounters and creativity.
Playing music and on stilts, the "Trio Grande" moved around the pedestrian zone and Schlossplatz in the heart of Wiesbaden. With great love for the audience, humor and charm, the three dazzling characters could be seen and heard three times a day for half an hour.
Interested walkers were also able to meet Jochen the elephant. The interactive walking act talked to the people, was fond of children, charming, friendly, but could also be hard of hearing and moody at times and asked and answered the odd question.
The "flexoncirc" duo performed acrobatic street theater on Mauritiusplatz. The two artists Louise and Daniel transformed gravity into art and created moments full of elegance and power. In their 40-minute show, they performed hand-to-hand acrobatics and juggling.
Young artists were also given a stage: the children's and youth circus of "Neuer Zirkus e.V." took part in the "FreiluftARTistik" program with artistic contributions.
