Advice on HIV infection, AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases

The public health department provides information about sexually transmitted diseases. We carry out blood tests to rule out hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis and AIDS (HIV).

If the risk of infection dates back at least six weeks, an infection with HIV can be reliably ruled out. An infection with the syphilis pathogen shows up in the blood no later than eight to ten weeks after a risk contact. An infection with hepatitis B viruses can only be ruled out with a probability of 80 percent even after three months.

Counseling on HIV infection, AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases takes place at Konradinerallee 11, Building A in Wiesbaden.
