Motor vehicle: Replace registration certificate part II (vehicle registration document)
If the registration certificate part II (vehicle registration document) is damaged, stolen or lost, a new replacement document can be issued by the Wiesbaden vehicle registration authority.
Please first check whether "OHNE-ZF-" is entered in field 16 of the vehicle registration certificate.
If this is the case, your vehicle is subject to operating license and there is no registration certificate part II. An application for a replacement document can therefore not be made.
The processing time is three weeks. From the date of presentation and collection of the lost registration certificate Part II. A new appointment is required to collect the document.
Documents
Valid identification document
Extract from the commercial register or business registration if the vehicle is used as a company vehicle
Registration certificate part I (with proof of valid main inspection/HU)
Possibly a police report of theft
if the vehicle is purchased, proof of ownership (purchase contract showing that the registration certificate Part II was also handed over to the purchaser).
In the event of death in inheritance matters, corresponding official proof such as a certificate of inheritance or will and, if applicable, a declaration of consent from the co-heirs, including copies of identity documents, must be submitted.
Fees
The fee is based on the scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt). It amounts to at least 20.20 euros.
Payment methods
EC card payment, credit card payment and cash payments possible.
What else should I know?
Please note
Affidavit in case of loss
As a rule, an affidavit (subject to a fee) will have to be requested. You must appear in person for this. Representation by proxy is not possible.
As the number of the registration certificate Part II is also entered in the registration certificate Part I, a new Part I must also be issued.
Remark
The loss or theft of the registration certificate Part II must be reported to the registration authority in person. The loss or theft of a registration certificate part II is reported to the Federal Motor Transport Authority by the registration authority and published in the Verkehrsblatt. The new registration documents can only be collected after a period of about three weeks after the visit. The registration authority can provide information on the expected processing time
