SV Wehen Wiesbaden (SVWW)
Since the 2007/08 season, the professional division of SV Wehen has been based in Wiesbaden and is called "SV Wehen 1926 Wiesbaden GmbH". This is how SVW became SVWW. In addition to the second "W" for Wiesbaden, the new logo also shows the three lilies, the symbol of the state capital.
After two seasons in the 2nd Bundesliga, SV Wehen was relegated to the newly created 3rd division at the end of the 2008/09 season, but still plays under professional conditions and plans to return to a higher league. The move became necessary because the infrastructure on the local "Halberg" in the Taunus region did not meet the requirements of professional soccer.
SV Wehen was founded in 1926 and initially played in the C-Class Wiesbaden. It was not until 1965 that the club caused a major stir for the first time, when it became champion of the B class with 54 : 0 points and was even honored by ZDF with a film report.
The water filter manufacturer ("Brita") and later major sponsor Heinz Hankammer joined the club in 1979 and took over as club chairman in 1982. When it became clear in 2006/07, after ten years in the regional league, that SV Wehen would actually be promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga, the club looked for a new venue and found what it was looking for in Wiesbaden, 15 km away. SV Wehen opened the Brita-Arena on the eastern outskirts of the city in October 2007.
