Stockheim, Johann Friedrich von
Stockheim, Johann Friedrich von
bailiff
born: 1568 in Idstein
died: 05.04.1627 in Germersheim (near Speyer)
Stockheim came from a family of lower nobility. His father Wilhelm was bailiff to the Counts of Nassau-Idstein. Like his ancestors, Stockheim entered the service of the Counts of Nassau-Idstein and from 1590 served as bailiff to the Counts in Wiesbaden with his official residence in the Nuremberg Court. From 1595-1611 he was bailiff in Oppenheim.
In 1611, he asked the Counts of Nassau-Idstein for his dismissal in order to enter the service of the Palatine Counts of the Rhine. After two years, the Counts of Nassau approved his transfer to the service of Frederick V of the Palatinate. In 1613, he moved to Germersheim as Oberamtmann.
He was buried in the Germersheim town church.
