Müller, Hilde
Local politician
Born: 18.03.1920 in Aurich
died: 06.06.1971 in Wiesbaden
Müller attended the Institut der Englischen Fräulein and trained as a chemical technician at the Fresenius Chemical College, where she also worked for two years. In 1941, she began working for Chemische Fabrik Kalle & Co. and remained loyal to the company for over 30 years. Müller was active in the trade union, on the works council and on the board of the Association of German Chemical Engineers. She had been a member of the Catholic Youth in Wiesbaden since her youth.
She joined the Junge Union in 1946 and became a member of the CDU in 1954. Two years later, she was elected to the city council for the first time, a position she held until 1964. She then served as an honorary city councillor on the municipal council and was again a city councillor from 1968-71. As a local politician, she was particularly committed to children and young people. She campaigned for the creation of new children's playgrounds and the expansion and promotion of daycare centers.
In addition to her party political work, she was also active as a volunteer in many organizations and associations, e.g. the city assembly of Catholics, the Caritas association and the St. Andreas parish. As a resident of the Rheingau district, she had long wished for a place to meet in her neighborhood, so the community center set up on Wallufer Platz in 1986 was named "Hilde-Müller-Haus".
