Meißner-Draeger studied singing in Vienna for four years with the singer and voice teacher Gertrude Foerstel (1880-1950). She then worked in Bern, Essen and Halle an der Saale. She was engaged in Wiesbaden from 1934-37 as Erna Sack 's successor. From here she made numerous guest appearances and engagements with Hessischer Rundfunk and Saarländischer Rundfunk.
The singer's repertoire ranged from folk songs to the coloratura aria of Zerbinetta from the opera "Ariadne auf Naxos" by Richard Strauss (1864-1949). The singer was also a regular guest of the Marburg Symphony Orchestra. In the auditorium of the municipal secondary school for girls on Boseplatz in 1945/46, concerts with potpourris from operetta and opera were held, which were very popular with the public and of which she was the star.
Meißner-Draeger later taught singing at the Wiesbaden Conservatory. She was married to Richard Meißner, the director of the conservatory.
