Media Center Wiesbaden e.V.
In 1999, Wiesbaden was one of the first municipalities in Hesse to transform its city image office into a modern media center, which acts as a central IT support service provider and advises all schools on their equipment requirements.
Schools have the opportunity to borrow event and modern projection technology as well as up-to-date video equipment from the media center free of charge. Teachers have access to over 15,000 media on data carriers or as downloads for use in the classroom. The spectrum ranges from classic, short educational films on DVD and as video downloads to podcasts and software. "Wiesbaden Schools on the Net", or wies@n for short, is the name of the network through which all schools in the city are connected to the Internet. Since 2003, the "Kino macht Schule" program has been offering cinema films with socially relevant themes.
In 2014, the media center moved into its new location in the Mauritius Mediathek together with the Wiesbaden city library headquarters and the music librarycity library headquarters and the music library.
