The listed Langenbeckplatz-Stadtgarten is located in a district characterized by apartment buildings and villas. It was laid out in 1889-91 after the construction of St. Josef's Hospital and is built up with villas on the right-hand side. It was named after the doctor Bernhard von Langenbeck in 1898.

Langenbeckplatz-Stadtgarten is of great importance to the residents, patients and visitors of the adjacent hospital. The 4,500^m2 citizens' park with its integrated playground, the only one in the district, is clearly demarcated by a 280 m long hedge and, with its numerous trees, shrubs and flowers, offers the surrounding district a "green space" to play, linger and experience for all generations.
