Children's Audiobook Prize of the State Capital of Wiesbaden

The winner of the Children's Audiobook Prize of the City of Wiesbaden is chosen annually by the jury of the hr2 Audiobook Best List. This has been a tradition for children's audiobooks since 1998, and since 2009 the City of Wiesbaden has provided funding of €10,000. Traditionally, the prize is presented on the last day of the "hr2-Hörfest" in Wiesbaden, a cooperative event organized by hr2-kultur and the Cultural Office of the City of Wiesbaden, which takes place at the end of January or beginning of February.

The Children's Audiobook Prize was awarded for the first time on January 25, 2009 for the best children's audiobook of 2008. The winner was Andreas Steinhöfel with the audio book version of "Rico, Oskar und die Tieferschatten" (HörbuchHamburg).
