Käsebier was one of the most respected and influential personalities in Wiesbaden between 1840 and 1884. He was a merchant, bathhouse owner and insurance agent.
As a long-standing member of the municipal council and the citizens' committee, he also rendered outstanding services as a board member of numerous associations. He was secretary of the beautification association for many years. His house was a social meeting place for people interested in public affairs and for artists.
