Non-profit association for the disabled in Wiesbaden and Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis e.V.
The Gemeinnützige Verein für Behindertenhilfe Wiesbaden und Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis e.V. was founded on June 4, 1973 with the aim of supporting and qualifying people with disabilities. In 1979, the association opened its first recognized workshop for people with disabilities in WI at Hagenauer Straße 45 and provided 181 people with disabilities with a workplace.
Today, it operates five workshops with associated day care centers in Wiesbaden and the Rheingau-Taunus district, which currently employ around 720 people with all types and degrees of disability in a wide range of specialist areas. The wide range of employment opportunities extends from simple packaging and assembly work to sophisticated IT services.
In addition, the non-profit association for the disabled founded the "Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft für Integrationsfachdienste Wiesbaden-Rheingau-Taunus mbH" (GID gGmbH) in 1997, which supports people with disabilities in their search for a job and is a contact and cooperation partner for companies in Wiesbaden and the region. With another subsidiary, DBS gGmbH, an integration company for severely disabled people, the association has implemented its goal of facilitating the re-entry of people with disabilities into the work process.
