Industrialist, city councillor
Born: 25.02.1840 in Mühlheim am Rhein
died: 17.06.1929 in Wiesbaden
Fehr-Flach managed his father's silk production business from 1860, but later also enjoyed success in other industrial sectors such as quartzite mining. In 1877, his father-in-law, the Wiesbaden industrialist Albert Flach, put him in charge of his tin foil and stamp factory. Elected to the Wiesbaden Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in 1879, Fehr-Flach became deputy chairman in 1888 and was its president from 1897 to 1920. During this time, he founded the Mittelrheinischer Fabrikantenverein, the Kaufmännischer Verein Wiesbaden and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kaufmannserholungsheime, of which Fehr-Flach was president from 1917-20.
Fehr-Flach was also active in local politics, serving as a city councillor from 1884-97 and campaigning for the construction of Wiesbaden's new main railway station. He also campaigned for the construction of the new theater. He retired from all offices in 1920. For his services, he was appointed Kommerzienrat in 1900 and Honorary President of the Wiesbaden Chamber of Industry and Commerce in 1920.
