Protestant Youth Organization Wiesbaden (ejw)

The beginnings of the Evangelisches Jugendwerk Wiesbaden (ejw) go back to Hermann Einecke, who started boys' circles for confirmed young people in the Marktkirche and Kreuzkirche churches in 1946. This was followed by youth groups and the Heliand Scouts. Summer camps were held as early as 1947. This marked the foundation of the Evangelical Boys' and Young Men's Organization in Wiesbaden, which was renamed the Evangelical Youth Organization Wiesbaden in 1971 and in which girls and young women now also helped to shape youth work.

Even though a youth officer forms the backbone of the ejw's work, it is the many young people who volunteer to lead groups, organize trips, camps and projects. They are the hallmark of the Evangelisches Jugendwerk.

Today, around 150 people from the age of eight to young adults meet in groups of the Protestant Youth Organization, which come together in the Kreuzkirchen, Paul-Gerhardt and Paulus parishes. A variety of activities, weekend events and vacation camps throughout Europe round off the program.
