Founded in 1992, the German-Polish Society Mainz-Wiesbaden e.V. aims to arouse interest in our eastern neighboring country, improve relations at local and regional level and bring Poles and Germans into conversation with each other.

To this end, the German-Polish Society organizes lectures on the history, culture and current situation of Poland, film screenings and discussion evenings, leads translation projects and invites people to socialize. The German-Polish Society also organizes concerts, where visitors are introduced not only to the classics, but also to jazz, folklore and contemporary music, as well as literary events.

One focus of its activities is film, be it film series, special film evenings or lectures on Polish filmmaking. Panel discussions on the political situation in Poland, social developments and current problems round off the program.

The German-Polish Society was dissolved in 2022.
