Actress, reciter

born: 19.12.1899 in Wiesbaden

Died: 31.05.1967 in Wiesbaden

Christann was the daughter of the Wiesbaden court councillor and spa director Hermann Rauch. She attended the Höhere Töchterschule in Wiesbaden and then decided to become an actress.

She made her theater debut in Darmstadt in 1918 under the direction of Ernst Legal (1881-1955). She then performed in Breslau, Königsberg, Hanover and Berlin, where she was also briefly director of the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm. She chose her paternal grandmother's maiden name as her stage name and called herself "Christann" after her.

In 1938, she married Helmut Fritz Brümmer, a native of Danzig, in Wiesbaden. Both lived in Riga at this time. In 1940, the couple adopted the double name Brümmer-Patzig. Christann returned to Wiesbaden in 1945 and became involved in the city's newly emerging cultural life. From 1955 she was the first chairwoman of the Gedok group Mainz-Wiesbaden and from 1957-67 president of the Società Dante Alighieri in Wiesbaden.

She was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for her cultural commitment.
