Bausch, Wilhelm
Bricklayer
Born: April 29, 1879 in Naurod
died: April 12, 1960 in Naurod
Bausch was a trained bricklayer and co-founder of the Naturfreunde Naurod association in 1927. The members of this association were mostly local craftsmen and worked in their free time to beautify and design their home town. Bausch was instrumental in the construction of a shelter built in 1934 on a Naurod pea field.
Wilhelm Bausch married Luise Katharine Christiane Philippine Neuß on September 5, 1903 in Naurod. She died there on April 13, 1952. Wilhelm Bausch also died in Naurod on April 12, 1960.
The refuge built by Bausch and others was destroyed by American soldiers after the end of the Second World War and was not rebuilt until the 1970s. However, the location of the hut was moved to the Kellerskopf. The new hut was named after Wilhelm Bausch due to his great commitment to the construction of the first hut.
