As an industrial mechanic (specializing in industrial engineering) at the waste disposal companies of the state capital Wiesbaden (ELW), you will work directly with the highly specialized machines used in the sewage treatment plants for wastewater treatment. To ensure that they work reliably around the clock, they must be kept in good working order.
Your tasks? More than just screwing!
- You maintain large agitators, pumps, filter systems or presses.
- You work with different materials such as metals and plastics and process them using files, milling, turning and drilling.
- You read and draw circuit diagrams.
- You will manufacture simple spare parts from metal or plastic yourself.
Your training? Running like clockwork!
- Start of training: September 1
- Duration of training: 3.5 years
- Practical training: ELW workshops (opens in a new tab) for mechanical and electrical engineering
- Theoretical training: Friedrich-Ebert-Schule (opens in a new tab) in Wiesbaden
- Examinations: Intermediate examination in the 2nd year of training, written and oral final examination in the 3rd year of training
