From household waste to industrial waste - as an environmental technologist for recycling and waste management, you will ensure that waste is not simply disposed of, but recycled and reused as a valuable raw material and energy source. In this way, you will make an important contribution to sustainability every day - for a more sustainable environment and improved quality of life in Wiesbaden!
As part of a motivated team, you will work both indoors in machine rooms and outdoors at landfills and recycling centers such as the Dyckerhoffbruch landfill. This is one of the largest landfills in Germany.
Your tasks? Turning old into new!
- You are familiar with environmental protection, waste disposal and recycling processes and handle waste in an environmentally friendly and profitable way.
- You know the different classes of recyclable materials and waste and sort waste delivered to landfills and recycling centers appropriately.
- You will work with special technical equipment, e.g. to recycle landfill gas or treat leachate.
- You will take material samples for laboratory tests and record all important data on the computer.
- You will carry out minor repairs to technical equipment yourself.
- You will ensure that landfill operations run smoothly.
Your training? Sustainable and future-oriented!
- Start of training: September 1
- Duration of training: 3 years
- Practical training: Waste disposal companies of the state capital Wiesbaden (opens in a new tab) (ELW), Dyckerhoffbruch landfill site
- Theoretical training: Hans-Viessmann-Schule (opens in a new tab) in Frankenberg and state vocational school in Lauingen (opens in a new tab) (block teaching)
And you? Recycling professional! Don't just keep the city clean at first glance!
