Your job? More than just a classic office routine!
You will work in the offices of the city administration and advise citizens on legal matters relating to everyday life. You will examine laws, provide information and develop solutions for administrative processes - from personnel planning and budget management to management tasks.
The wide-ranging insight you gain during your studies will allow you to see for yourself which tasks best suit your ideas of a professional future.
When you start your studies, you will be made a permanent civil servant.

- You advise and inform citizens on legal issues relating to everyday life - from regulatory law to social welfare.
- You make decisions on the basis of laws and regulations and process applications (e.g. citizens' allowance, building permits, etc.).
- You make administrative processes more efficient - from personnel planning to budget management.
- You plan and implement projects that improve public life.
- You help to ensure that all decisions are legally sound and ensure order and transparency in the administration.
- You work across departments and build networks - within the administration and across institutions.

- Start date: September 1
- Duration of studies: 3 years (6 semesters)
- Practical training: placement in max. 5 offices of the Wiesbaden city administration (general administration, personnel management, financial management, regulatory administration and service administration)
- Theoretical training: University of Applied Sciences for Public Management and Security (opens in a new tab) (HöMS) Wiesbaden (block teaching)
- Course content: Personnel, social, regulatory, administrative, state and municipal law, public budgeting and finance, basics of business administration and economics as well as sociology and psychology
- Examinations: Bachelor's thesis and colloquium, module examinations

Must-haves
- General higher education entrance qualification or entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or other school education qualifying for university studies
- Fulfillment of the requirements under civil service law (e.g. German citizenship or that of an EU member state, health suitability)
- Maximum age at the start of studies: 40 years
- Successful participation in an online aptitude test and an interview
- Good written and spoken German language skills
