Environmental scouts are on the road again

The second round of the "Stay clean!" prevention campaign begins.

After a successful first round last autumn, the Wiesbaden environmental scouts are back: from Saturday, April 5, they will be out and about in the city center on Friday and Saturday evenings - the second round of the "Stay clean!" campaign starts just in time for the Easter market. Their mission: to sensitize citizens to the issue of cleanliness in public spaces, inform them about correct waste disposal and motivate them to take more personal responsibility - in a friendly and low-threshold manner, rather than with a raised index finger.

"Careless littering is also a growing problem in Wiesbaden," says Mayor and Head of Environmental Affairs Christiane Hinninger. "Our environmental scouts focus on prevention through education. The project is an important building block for a clean city."

In terms of content, the focus in the second round with the environmental scouts is on take-away packaging, drinks cups, chewing gum and paper waste. A new feature is a short survey on the subjective perception of cleanliness in the Historic Pentagon: how clean do people think their city center is - and what needs to change?

"We want to start a conversation with people - about the impact of waste on the environment and the cityscape," explains Christiane Hinninger. "Our goal: more awareness, less waste."

The project is funded by the federal program "Sustainable inner cities and centers". The Mainz-based agency dreivorzwölf marketing, which has already been successful in other cities with "Stay clean!", is the implementation partner.
