Parking lot at Warmen Damm: Perfect address for short-term parkers
WiBau is making further progress with the restructuring of Wiesbaden's "parking landscape". At the beginning of the year, the municipal company WiBau, which is responsible for managing the city's parking garages and parking areas, had already made extensive changes to the tariff structure by reducing numerous tariffs in the parking garages and switching all tariff intervals to short intervals.
In April, there will also be changes to the "Am Warmen Damm" parking lot. This popular parking area on Wilhelmstraße is to be used even more for short-term parking with immediate effect. "As there are no short-term parking spaces on the roadside of Wilhelmstraße and demand on Burgstraße far exceeds supply, we want to ensure that the parking lot is available to short-term parkers in particular," says WiBau Managing Director Andreas Guntrum, explaining the motivation for the changes.
In order to facilitate short visits to local traders and businesses, the first 20 minutes of parking will be free of charge in future. "Anyone planning a longer stay in the city would be better off using our parking garages," the WiBau boss explains to parking customers. "The Theater multi-storey parking lot is only a few steps away from the Warmen Damm parking lot."
The preference for short-term parking is also made clear by the changed tariff structure in the parking lot. While the first 20 minutes are free of charge, a parking fee of one euro is charged for every ten additional minutes of parking time.
With this measure, WiBau aims to ensure that short-term parking spaces are almost always available on Wilhelmstrasse due to high turnover. "For an extended stroll through the city, our customers are in good hands in the cheaper multi-storey parking lots," concludes Guntrum.
