By bus to the Wiesbaden Easter market
One of the first major highlights of the Wiesbaden event season is the traditional Easter market. This year it will take place in the pedestrian zone from Friday, April 4 to Sunday, April 6. There will be live music as well as a fabric and artists' market in the historic pentagon. Sunday is open for business and public transport in the Wiesbaden city area is free for all passengers.
So that everyone can enjoy the festival carefree and without the stress of searching for a parking space, ESWE Verkehr is once again offering the practical event ticket this year; it costs 5.20 euros for adults (children pay 3 euros) and entitles the holder to a return journey on local transport in the entire 6500 fare zone (Wiesbaden, Mainz and surrounding area) on the same day of operation, i.e. until 5 a.m. the next morning or until the end of the last Nightliner journey. The ticket must be stamped in the validation machine on the outward and return journeys - only then is it valid. The event ticket is available wherever tickets are available: at all advance booking offices, at ticket machines and from bus drivers.
Easter Market Sunday: On Sunday, April 6, the use of public transportation is free of charge for all passengers in the entire Wiesbaden city area. Mayor Christiane Hinninger: "This regulation includes all buses as well as S-Bahn and regional train connections in the Wiesbaden city area, and we are thus enabling everyone to travel comfortably and sustainably."
An overview of all tickets and fares can be found at www.eswe-verkehr.de. The locations of all ticket agencies and ticket machines are listed in the interactive route network map at www.netzplan-wiesbaden.de. More information is available at the ESWE Verkehr mobility center at Marktstraße 10 and at the mobility information points at the main station and Luisenplatz.
