Traffic accident in underground parking garage driveway - rescue with hydraulic rescue equipment

This Friday evening at around 7 p.m., a serious traffic accident occurred in the entrance to an underground parking garage in Fontanestraße (south-east). A car with three occupants drove down an underground parking garage exit for reasons as yet unexplained, broke through the half-open entrance gate and then crashed head-on into a wall.

Two of the vehicle's occupants - the front passenger and a passenger in the back seat - were able to free themselves from the vehicle after the collision. The driver, on the other hand, suffered injuries that made it necessary for the fire department to carry out a patient-friendly rescue. Hydraulic rescue equipment was used to free the person from the severely deformed vehicle.

At the same time, two patients were given initial treatment by the rescue service and subsequently transported to Wiesbaden hospitals, some with serious injuries. The third person did not require emergency medical treatment.

A command vehicle and two rescue fire engines from Fire Station 1, the technical accident assistance roll-off container from Fire Station 2, three ambulances, an emergency ambulance and the organizational head of the rescue service were deployed. The Wiesbaden fire department was on site with a total of 17 firefighters. The operation was completed after about an hour.

The police have begun investigating the cause of the accident.
