Preparation of a new land use plan
On October 31, 2019, the City Council resolved to draw up a new land use plan for Wiesbaden. This continues the path towards future-proof and sustainable urban development that began with the integrated urban development concept.
The currently effective land use plan (FNP) of the state capital of Wiesbaden dates back to 2003. Since then, numerous amendment procedures have been carried out. In addition, adjustments to changed framework conditions and current legal situations are necessary. The changed framework conditions include the requirements of population growth, the increasing demand for living space and the change and development processes of commercial and industrial locations. Environmental concerns must be given special consideration. An intensive examination of climate protection and climate adaptation as well as the integration of the landscape plan are necessary.
The procedure for drawing up the new land use plan is based on the applicable standards of the German Building Code. In addition to public participation, public agencies, municipal offices and neighboring municipalities are also involved in the process. The resolution by the municipal council marks the formal start of this process.
