Concept procedure

Communal living

The state capital of Wiesbaden would like to use concept procedures to promote communal living and meet the desire for alternative forms of living beyond traditional one-room or multi-room apartments.

People of different ethnicities, genders and ages hold hands and lift them up together. The people form a circle and are standing on a green meadow with trees in the background. One of the people is sitting in a wheelchair. The people are dressed in summer clothes.

Living in a community - however organized - has offered a wide range of benefits in terms of social interaction, and not just since the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, communal housing projects often have an impact far beyond their property boundaries in their urban district: they contribute to sustainable and vibrant neighborhoods through special urban planning, ecological and architectural housing solutions, forward-looking mobility and energy concepts as well as invigorating community uses and activities.

The state capital of Wiesbaden has various event formats that address the topic of "communal living":

Existing housing projects present themselves as part of the annual Wiesbaden Housing Project Days. Nascent groups can network with interested parties. There is also the opportunity to obtain advice directly at the information stands of the Coordination Office for Community Housing and the Concept Procedure Office. The framework is provided by an extensive program of lectures, panel discussions and other exciting events.

The "Community Living" regulars' table, which is run by the Coordination Office for Community Living in Wiesbaden, also meets regularly:

Interested parties in and around Wiesbaden meet here in a relaxed atmosphere and have the opportunity to exchange experiences between existing projects of "old hands" and project ideas of interested newcomers.

The regulars' table meets once a quarter in a relaxed atmosphere.
