Building land register of the state capital Wiesbaden

An important principle of sustainable urban development enshrined in the German Building Code is to use land sparingly and to take advantage of opportunities for inner-city development. With this building land register, the state capital of Wiesbaden is contributing to the implementation of these goals.

The building land register consists of undeveloped plots as well as underused or only slightly developed plots that appear to be developable in accordance with the provisions of a development plan or within the built-up districts. This includes plots for possible residential development as well as those for which mixed or commercial use is conceivable. They are recorded on maps and presented in data sheets with details of the parcel, parcel number, street name, plot size and planning law. Aerial photographs are also included.

The compilation of the plots is intended to serve as a basis of information for prospective developers. Further details on the usability of the property, such as the possibility of development, ownership and other general conditions, must be determined by the interested parties themselves. The permissibility of a development is always based on the building planning and building regulations. A building permit can only ever be bindingly clarified by means of a preliminary building inquiry or a building application to be submitted to the building inspectorate.

The publications of the building land register on the Internet for the respective local districts were announced in the Wiesbaden daily newspapers by means of public notices - which can be viewed in the downloads at the bottom of this page.

The affected property owners can lodge an objection to the publication of their property in the building land register at any time by writing to the City Planning Office.
