Migration advice centers

The employees of these services promote and support the integration process of immigrants with the aim of enabling them to participate equally in economic, social, cultural and political life and provide advice on integration courses.

There are migration advice centers for adult immigrants and a youth migration service in the Hessian state capital.

The migration advice service for adult immigrants (MBE) provided by the Caritas Association, the Federation of Expellees and the Diakonisches Werk is aimed at immigrant adults. The Internationaler Bund 's youth migration service is open to immigrants aged between twelve and 27. The employees of these services promote and support the integration process of immigrants with the aim of enabling them to participate in economic, social, cultural and political life on an equal footing.

The networking of the advice centers with specialist services, offices and institutions enables targeted referral to the relevant authorities if required. The services offered by the advice centers include in particular

  • Information on legal issues
  • Arranging language and integration courses
  • Clarification of questions about school, training, employment, pension
  • Recognition of professional qualifications and certificates
  • Advice on housing
  • Help with questions about health insurance, visits to the doctor or pregnancy
  • Mediation between migrants, authorities and the general public

The staff at the advice centers have various foreign language skills, so that advice sessions can also be held in languages other than German by arrangement.
