EmMi energy-saving program
EmMi - Climate protection program at schools
Pupils learn to use resources consciously. Together for a sustainable future. It's worth taking part: every action counts and saves CO₂!
Working together for a sustainable and climate-friendly future
EmMi is a climate protection program run by the Department of Finance, Schools and Culture that has been helping schools to promote the conscious use of resources such as water, electricity and heat since 2011. The aim is to raise pupils' awareness of climate-friendly routines in everyday life.
The Environment and Building Department and the Wiesbaden Climate Protection Agency provide expert advice and support.
Climate protection in everyday school life
The topic of climate protection and sustainability is firmly integrated into lessons and is deepened through project days and practical activities. The janitor staff play an important key role in the implementation on site.
Voluntary participation with an additional incentive
Participation in EmMi is voluntary. Schools that successfully contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions with their campaigns and measures receive a bonus as an additional incentive. This not only benefits the environment, but also the school community.
