Benefits for living expenses - Citizen's income

What is citizen's income? This video explains it.

Antrag auf Bürgergeld (SGB II) - Kommunales Jobcenter/Landeshauptstadt Wiesbaden

Our task and our goal as a municipal job center for jobseekers is to enable people who are dependent on financial assistance from us to live a dignified life, to strengthen their personal responsibility and to help them earn a living from their own resources and strength.
If you are currently unable to independently finance your living expenses and, if applicable, those of your family members within a household (community of need) because you and/or your family members have too little income or no income at all and your assets are not sufficient, you have the option of applying to us for citizen's allowance.

You must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • You are at least 15 years old and have not yet reached the statutory age limit
  • You are able to work at least three hours a day under normal labor market conditions
  • You have your usual place of residence in Wiesbaden
  • You are also in need of assistance (you and any family members in your household do not have sufficient income and/or assets)

Has anything changed for you?

In the following video you will find important information about which changes you need to notify the municipal job center. You can also use our digital mailbox for this purpose.
