Suzanne Mubarak
On October 6, 2004, the wife of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Suzanne Mubarak, signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.
Suzanne Mubarak was born on
February 28, 1941 in Al-Minya, Egypt.
After her marriage to future President Husni Mubarak, she completed a Western-style education at the American University in Cairo with a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in sociology. As First Lady of Egypt between 1981 and 2011, she was particularly committed to the literacy of Egyptian youth.
During a stay in Wiesbaden, she was received by Lord Mayor Diehl on June 10, 2004 in the ballroom of the town hall. Diehl praised her commitment to the youth and her dedication as Honorary President of the Egyptian Rotarians.
Mubarak thanked Diehl for his kind words and then signed the city's Golden Book.
