Town twinning Wiesbaden - Fatih
On September 18, 2012, a delegation from the city of Fatih signed the Golden Book of the city of Wiesbaden.
Fatih is a district of the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul and is located on the European side of the city. Since the time of Mehmed the Conqueror, Fatih has been considered a district of scholars and poets. The cityscape is characterized by numerous mosques, some of which were built in the Ottoman centuries by converting Orthodox churches.
Like Wiesbaden, Fatih is very interested in the exchange between Europe and the Arab world. Due to its location between the continents, there could be no better city for the Hessian state capital to manifest this connection with a city partnership.
Mayor Müller welcomed a Turkish delegation to the town hall on September 18, 2012 to document the friendship. During the ceremony, political representatives from Fatih signed the city's Golden Book.
