International Savings Banks Congress

On June 15, 1954, the Board of Directors of the IV International Savings Banks Congress signed the Golden Book of the City of Wiesbaden.

On Tuesday, June 15, 1954, the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Savings arrived at Wiesbaden City Hall for a reception at the request of the Lord Mayor. At around noon, an entry was made in the Golden Book.

Representatives of savings banks from twelve different countries immortalized themselves with their signatures. Besides European representatives such as André Joint-Lambert, President of the Savings Bank of Paris, Olof Norbeck, Director General of the Savings Bank of Stockholm and Affonseca, Director General of the Savings Bank of São Paulo.

A total of twelve businesspeople signed the Golden Book on behalf of the approximately 1,500 participants of the congress from all over the world, thus confirming Wiesbaden's international reputation, as the Director General of the Brussels-based Sparkasse, Guchteneere, explained in his words of thanks.
